Our Jolly Wassail is a festive celebration of carols, folk tunes and seasonal music from across the centuries played and sung with ancient, traditional and modern instruments. As the carol originates from medieval times when it was a popular dance form you’ll see many of the carols in the programme taken back to their dance origins. Be prepared for stamping and clapping as well as singing along with familiar favourites, carol sheets provided of course. Add to that some atmospheric, historic and humorous Christmas readings and you’ll have a wonderful entertainment that will be a memorable part of your seasonal celebrations. An excellent way to start Christmas.

Malcolm and Elizabeth Ecclestone have perfomed together for many years. For much of their careers in music they have combined performance with teaching. Malcolm spent many years performing his one-man living history plays to educational establishments around East Anglia. He founded the first early music ensemble in Norfolk, The Bridewell Consort, and subsequently with Elizabeth, The Norwich Waits. The Waits held the position as official musicians to Norwich City Council and performed at numerous civic events, entertaining the council's guests from around the country and overseas. They formed the Radio Dance Band, and Manhattan Magic Jazz Band before establishing Chanter's Jigge in 2013. They have appeared in films, on television and educational videos. Chanter's Jigge have travelled widely. Their shortest journey being to the village hall in East Ruston, the Norfolk village where they live, and their longest journey to Milan to perform at the International Book Fair.
