Norwich Pride Art Exhibition: Trancestry (Copy)

This free-to-visit exhibition in The Noverre Ballroom is sponsored by The Assembly House and will focus on remembering, celebrating and reflecting upon the history of the transgender community.

The exhibition, which opens on July 22 until July 27, is open to all LGBTQIA+ artists, but will centre trancestry to show that trans and gender non-conforming people have always been here.

The exhibition will create a snapshot of the community's transcestry using the work of local artists, archival materials, and the photographers who document Norwich Pride each year. Responses to the brief may include:

 * celebrations of personal transition

 * historical figures and their lives

 * local events such as Norwich Pride and the Trans Pride Picnic

 * drag story hour protests

 * the forgotten tales of transgender individuals

 Accessibility information for The Assembly House is here and more about Norwich Pride can be found here.
