Sponsored by The Assembly House Trust.
The Norfolk Vision for Volunteering Launch Event from Voluntary Norfolk offers everyone a chance to find out more about volunteering in the county and what YOU can do to help your community.
It’s a celebration of volunteering and the launch of the new Norfolk Vision for Volunteering which will feature guest speakers, networking opportunities and cake! The room hire has been sponsored by The Assembly House Trust.
Refreshments will be served before a welcome from Alan Hopley, CEO at Voluntary Norfolk, and an introduction from Norfolk County Council to their work supporting the vision.
There will then be an introduction to the Norfolk Vision for Volunteering from Lucy Hogg, Director of VCSE Infrastructure at Voluntary Norfolk, followed by speeches responding to the Vision, including Mark Hitchcock (NCAB & Voluntary Norfolk) and Jonathan Warner (Aviva).
What is the Norfolk Vision for Volunteering?
The Vision outlines the changing nature of volunteering, the challenges this creates for the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector, and a bold call to action for change, with suggestions about how we become better-equipped to meet the needs and interests of volunteers.
What will the Vision launch involve?
At our launch event we will share the findings and key themes from our research, setting out the Vision and a way forward with a wide audience of stakeholders from VCSE organisations, public sector bodies and volunteers. We will be joined by senior stakeholders and decision makers who will share their reflections on the future of volunteering in Norfolk.
There will also be opportunities to discuss the vision themes and feed in your views. We want to hear the voices of a diverse range of people, groups, and organisations, so please join us, and bring your experience and perspectives to help us to shape a shared strategy for Volunteering in Norfolk.
Our speakers include:
Lucy Hogg, Director of VCSE Infrastructure, Voluntary Norfolk will introduce the Vision, its key themes and the change we need to see in Norfolk.
Mark Hitchcock, CEO, Norfolk Citizens Advice and Trustee, Voluntary Norfolk will share his perspective on the challenges and opportunities for VCSEs in responding to the Vision.
Jonathan Warner, Engagement Programmes Manager, Aviva Sustainability, Volunteering & Giving will discuss evolving Aviva’s approach to Employer Supported Volunteering in order to transfer the biggest impact to local communities.
We will also be facilitating round-table group discussions seeking your responses to the Vision on a variety of topics, including valuing volunteers; engaging young people in volunteering; and making volunteering person-centred. When booking your ticket, please indicate your preferred discussion group.
